The Academy has really been a wonderful, life changing experience for me. I’ve been blessed to be introduced to over 60 people who share the same dream as I. People who have become my extended family. People who have encouraged me and pushed me, even when my own family and friends have been nowhere to be found. I’ve learned so much and gained so much experience that I am very confident in my future and that I will achieve my goal of eventually becoming a Registered Nurse. I will always appreciate the compassion and concern the instructors bestowed on each of their students. As I start this new era in my life I will always give credit to this institution for guiding me in the right direction. Keep teaching, encouraging and inspiring students to be the best they can be.
Single mother, jobless, basically homeless living with my parents, and still struggling; that’s where I was at in October of 2011. I had applied for so many jobs, and hadn’t even gotten a call back for an interview. I was desperate, and needing something immediately. I happened to come across an ad one day for AAHC and just called, on a whim. Heather was so inviting and sweet, and immediately talked me into coming in for orientation. As soon as I walked in the door, I knew that I was in the right place at the right time. I ended up putting a deposit down for the December Billing and Coding daytime class that night.
Employed (well), with full benefits, new house, smile on my daughters face, and money in the bank; that’s where I am now, just six months after calling Heather. I completed the Billing and Coding course in February. Took my NHA test in March, but had a job before even taking the test. I made so many new, lifetime, friends, and had a blast.
The course made me feel better about myself, gave me more confidence and knowledge about life, not just billing and coding. Tonarra is absolutely wonderful and prepares you for just about anything. This school has been such a positive part of my life, and has ended up being a major milestone and turning point. I am so thankful for the entire staff and students for just being here, and allowing all of us the opportunity to better ourselves with an education and career.
When I first came to AAHC, I felt insecure and beat down by the workforce. I had applied for many different places within the workforce with no results. I have 10 years experience in the medical field, but I was missing something that was critical to keep me in that field certification
I began my quest for certification in the Billing and Coding Class. People warned it would be difficult, but I had no idea what I was in for. The class is very demanding, and even more so if you are a full time mom, and working a part-time job. I worked hard, organized by time and schedule better, studied a lot and completed the course with a grade I am proud of. The instructor, Tonarra, was great! She was always willing to take that extra step to explain things a little further, or to let you know that there have been many students sitting where I am today facing the same kind of hurdles, and everyone comes out just fine. Her encouragement was priceless!
As the Billing and Coding class ends, my journey does not. Next stop for me is the Certified Medical Asst. Program. I am excited to start this class, and even more excited about the future I am paving for my family.
Thanks to the wonderful people and the unique opportunity at AAHC, I am confident and eager to get back out into the workforce. I am still the same 10 year experience person, but this time I will have two certifications to add to my resume. It’s gonna knock their socks off!!
Being a student at AAHC has been life changing to me in several different ways. I am a single mother of a 4 year old boy, and working long hours 6 days a week left me with little time to get to spend with him. I decided that not only did my son deserve more, so did I. I researched multiple schools and programs, but they were all very expensive or required me to give up the majority of my time. I’ll never forget the day I saw a commercial for AAHC and decided to look into the school online. I was excited to find that not only were the hours great for me and my son, but also I wasn’t forced into taking classes that I didn’t need in order to have a career in a field I was interested in. The classroom experience has been an amazing experience. I have learned skills that will not only help me find a career, but also make me stand out compared to others applying for the same positions. Everyone at the school has been so helpful and encouraging that it really makes you feel appreciated each time you walk in the door. I feel that I am beyond prepared to start my career and make a life for my son and I that we deserve. I am so very thankful to the staff and to my amazing teacher for the skills and experience that has been given to me during my time at AAHC, I will definitely be recommending the school to everyone I know.
The Academy of Allied Health has truly made a huge impact on my life. When I first came to the orientation and left I knew when I walked out the door that this was where I wanted to further my education. Not only was the staff extremely nice, but they were also so helpful. Just their personality and encouragement makes you feel good, and that you can achieve what you want. I went through the Billing and Coding program and absolutely loved it! It was the best experience! Now I am going to go through the Medical Assistant program to further my education some more! The Academy of Allied Health really has helped me reach my goals in life, and I definitely owe them a BIG Thanks! With awesome teachers, staff, program costs, and lengths of programs, why would you want to go anywhere else? Thanks Academy of Allied Health for making a great impact on my life!
AAHC is a great place to learn. They have a great group of individuals that really care about your education. Everyone here will take the time to make sure you have everything you need to get the education you need for the field you choose. I would highly recommend AAHC to my family and friends. I hope to return in the future to take more classes to further my career. I think that AAHC are All About Having Concern for their students.
Thank you so much,
The Academy of Allied Health Careers has made a huge impact on my life. Before starting school here I had many trust issues with people and fear of failure. AAHC taught me to trust people and reach for my dreams. The staff of AAHC are amazing strong and loving individuals. They make sure that each and every student has the tools to be successful in the Medical field. They also are truly concerned about each students life and career. They will help you in every way they can. AAHC is more than a school, it’s a family. A family that you can turn to to help better your future.
Passion: a intense emotion, compelling feeling, enthusiasm, or desire for something. I have always had a passion to make a change in the world regardless the size of it. If I can do a little part in bringing happiness to someone or just brighten their day then my mission is accomplished. The Academy of allied health has allowed me to achieve goals I never thought I would have been able to reach. I come from a small little town most people have never heard of Reliance TN. We were extremely poor growing up and had a abusive home life. A chance at going to college was just a dream. Sometimes though, the hard times can make you stronger, and we go through things for a reason. My rough childhood instilled something in me. A want for better. Not just a better life, but a chance to better someone elses. A.A.H.C. has been a answer to a long asked prayer! I’m so excited to be a student there!!!
Being a CMA means so much to me. I feel like it was what I was meant to do. It defines me. My mother is my motivation for a better life. She was three months pregnant with me when my father was tragically killed in a car accident. She suddenly found herself as a single mom with a one year old on the way. Due to extreme grief my mother suffered many nervous breakdowns. She is manic depressive but, through all the sadness and troubles in her life she is still loving and kind to others. Her dream was to be a nurse but due to life she never had a chance to be one. I am a lot like my mother I’ve been told. I hope I can be half the woman she is. She gives me passion!
I choose AAHC because it suited me.It was simple, strait forward, and gave me what I needed in a short amount of time. It also fit my budget which you cant find anywhere! I was amazed how easy it was and there was no interest or tricky student loan contracts to confuse me!!! I love my instructor. She is a down to earth person who understand that we are only human and is willing to go the extra mile to lend a helping hand! I don’t just feel like I’m a number in a seat or a walking dollar bill. I feel like Im apart of a family and that I really matter!
Being poor?….It can discourage you and also make you feel like there is no hope for your future. I’ve been there but,It gives you a outlook on life not all people have. It makes you appreciate the little things in life and it also gives you a desire to better yourself. Not everyone has the opportunity to attend a big fancy college, but there is hope if you want it. AAHC is that hope! they give individuals the key to unlock their true potential. And people like me.poor they see no difference. They work with you to make it suit your own personal needs. I never thought I would ever be able to go to college.but A.A.H.C. made that dream a reality.
In my classroom there is a sign that reads Be the CHANGE you wish to see in the world. That is what I strive to be. My part might not be big or glamorous but it does make a difference.I can go home and lay my head down with a smile and know in my heart that to SOMEONE my life mattered today. AAHC is a wonderful place filled with wonderful people! They are making a difference everyday in people’s lives just like mine. They give a inspiration and a chance that big schools loose sign of. That’s why they are the difference.
Prior to attending AAHC, I found myself jobless for the first time in 30 years. Applying for job after job, I continued to find either I was over qualified or not qualified enough which led to frustration and discouragement. One day, someone told me about AAHC and all the opportunities they provided for a promising career through their education programs. After much prayer and consideration of how this opportunity could enhance and refresh my medical skills, I arranged an appointment for an interview.
From the first interview to the final signing of the enrollment papers, everyone was very professional. Each carefully explained the goals for their students in each career class. I must say, they were spong-on-it. With structured classes and curriculum; experienced caring faculty and respectable staff members, AAHC has been a school like no other in Chattanooga. For me, it has boosted my self esteem, added confidence in my abilities to focus on what’s important in life while expanding my knowledge of the current ever-changing medical field and added wisdom about future careers all while reaching my intended goal of refreshing my medical skills.
Today, after finishing MAA classes, I’ve achieved my certification in EHR (Electronic Health Records) and looking forward to beginning the Clinical Medical Assistant class in a week. I feel more confident than ever to face the job market and get the job designed for me.
Many thanks to the staff of AAHC for all their hard work and dedication to us students. Thanks to YOU, our lives and future have been changed for the positive!!
